Morgantown Walks Past UHS
MORGANTOWN – Eleven walks given up and just two hits from an anemic offense were a poor combination for the University High School baseball team on Wednesday.
The Hawks (6-6) dropped their fourth straight contest, this time by a 10-0 deficit to cross-town rival Morgantown High School.
Aaron Forbes and Chase Edwards had the only hits for UHS with Forbes collecting a double.
Evan Smith (2-1) pitched two scoreless innings before running into trouble with control problems in the third and fourth inning. He finished with two strikeouts and only surrendered three hits but did allow five free passes. Tony Marsh finished the final two innings in the mercy-rule shortened game as he struck out four in two innings of work. Zach Harman also saw action on the mound for UHS.
University will try to get back on the winning track on Friday when it travels to Brooke for a 4:30 p.m. contest.
